About Mindfulness

Today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world increases stress for students, especially those in underserved communities. Teaching mindfulness helps students manage anxiety, improve focus, and build resilience, enabling them to handle life’s challenges more effectively.

Mindfulness Tracks

Mindfully-Infused Music

Led by Heather Bloodworth

Even the best-prepared performers can feel nervous and face challenges during a performance. The key to doing well is learning how to handle these feelings. Mindfully Infused Music helps you develop important skills such as focusing your attention and managing your energy. Our sessions include both teaching and interactive activities, giving you the tools to improve your performance and feel confident under pressure.

Wilderness Wellness

Led by Jenn Bennett-Mintz

We'll move beyond tuning your wind, brass or string instrument and attune our body and mind with nature's rhythms. We'll explore how the natural world can help shift our perspective and tune in to what our mind and body is experiencing in the moment. We'll find tools to help us feel more grounded, easeful, and connected with ourselves and the world around us. When our bodies and minds are in tune we are better able to listen and play–join us for restorative and rejuvenating adventures in fresh air!

Horse Human Connection

Led by Julie Fitzpatrick

There is a special connection between people and horses. Horses can sense our feelings, and this helps us understand and work through emotions. Our trained Equus Coach will guide you in fun activities with horses, making it easier to learn about yourself and improve your well-being
without needing to talk a lot. You'll discover new ways to handle your feelings and connect with others. These sessions also provide a peaceful escape, giving you a chance to connect with the horses and nature.
